Security & Privacy
Security, privacy, and transparency.
Your financial information deserves careful handling. Here's how Veldran connects to your accounts, protects connection credentials, and gives you control over your information.
Can Veldran trade or withdraw my money?
Veldran requests read-only brokerage connections through SnapTrade to retrieve account information and holdings. Veldran doesn't offer trading or withdrawal features.
This describes the access Veldran requests. It is not a guarantee about the permissions of every existing connection. You can review your connection permissions with your brokerage or SnapTrade.
Does Veldran collect my brokerage password?
No. You connect through SnapTrade's connection flow without giving Veldran your brokerage password. Veldran receives connection credentials from SnapTrade so it can retrieve the financial information you connect.
How are connection credentials protected?
Stored brokerage connection secrets are encrypted by Veldran before they are saved in the database. The application decrypts them on the server when it needs to communicate with the connection provider.
This protection applies to connection secrets. It does not mean all portfolio information is encrypted end-to-end: Veldran needs to process financial records to provide the service.
Who can access my portfolio?
Access to financial records is controlled by workspace membership and roles. If you share a workspace, its authorized members can access its information according to their role.
Public portfolio sharing is off by default. The workspace owner decides whether to enable it and which available details to display. Anyone with an enabled public link can see the published information. Shared names, quantities or account labels may reveal more than percentages alone. Veldran and its service providers also process information as needed to operate the service, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
What happens when I disconnect a broker?
Successfully disconnecting an active SnapTrade brokerage connection disables it and stops future scheduled synchronization through it. Previously imported financial information stays in Veldran so you can keep your portfolio history.
Disconnecting does not delete imported data or erase records held by SnapTrade. If an already-disabled connection cannot be disconnected in Settings, contact us for help.
How does Veldran use AI to analyze financial information?
AI features can send financial information to OpenAI. Screenshot scanning sends the uploaded image, including any information visible in it. Other analysis features may transmit selected portfolio metrics, instrument information or financial source material to help explain your investments.
Avoid including unrelated personal information in screenshots. OpenAI's processing and retention depend on its applicable policies and service configuration; Veldran does not promise that AI requests are never retained. AI output can contain errors and is not financial advice.
What happens when I delete my account?
You can request account deletion in Settings. For an eligible account, this removes the account and its associated private workspace data. Before local deletion, the process cancels applicable recurring subscriptions and attempts to disable locally recorded active brokerage connections.
If you own a workspace with other members, you must transfer ownership or remove those members first. Financial records in another person's workspace remain. Shared brokerage connections created by the departing member can be affected; contact support before deletion if this applies to you. Some legal, billing, security or operational records may need to be retained; certain administrator accounts require support. External providers apply their own retention rules, so deletion is not immediate or complete across every provider.
